Finding Centre: A Day about Physical & Mental Balance

As the season reaches its peak at the Summer Solstice, we experience the longest day of the year—a powerful time of high energy, vibrant light, and full abundance in nature. Yet, peak light also requires a strong anchor.

This immersive day retreat is designed to focus entirely on balance—both physical and mental—harmonising your physical strength with a calm, resilient mind. Moving mindfully from morning vitality to afternoon stillness, you will leave with practical tools to maintain your balance in daily life.

ABOUT THE DAY

Our journey is carefully structured to transition your body and mind through layers of balance:

  • Morning Vitality & Breath: We begin by waking up the body with a dedicated yoga practice to shake off residual stagnation. This is followed by conscious breathwork (Pranayama) to clear the mind and expand our lung capacity.
  • The Art of Physical Balance: After a short break, we dive into a dedicated balance practice. We will explore how physical stability is built from the ground up, testing our focus and building rooted strength. Options will be offered for all abilities, ensuring everyone feels fully supported.
  • Lunch: We will gather for a healthy shared lunch followed by a gentle movement to optimise glucose absorption and steadying our afternoon energy levels.
  • Mental Equilibrium & Daily Practicality: Moving into the afternoon, we gather for a practical talk on cultivating balance of the mind and maintaining harmony amidst a hectic daily routine and revisiting your favourite balance practices and discuss practical, accessible tricks you can easily weave into everyday life.
  • The Final Integration: After a short tea break, we conclude our day by completely letting go. You will sink into a final relaxation accompanied by restorative sound therapy, allowing your nervous system to fully absorb the medicine of the day.

Our retreat takes place in a private, peaceful setting in Pangbourne, designed to let you completely unplug from the outside world. To preserve a quiet, supportive space where everyone receives personal guidance. Spaces are limited.

What to Bring:

  • Yoga: Please bring a yoga mat and a cushion or block for comfortable sitting and head support. I have some spare yoga mats and blankets.
  • Shared Lunch: We are going to enjoy a beautiful shared lunch together. Please bring something small, vegetarian, and healthy that you would like to share with others. I highly encourage you to create something yourself, but you are of course welcome to bring something bought.
  • Comfort & Warmth: A blanket and an eye mask are recommended to be comfortable and warm during the afternoon relaxation.
